Reproductive Health has become public health concern due to: –
- Unsatisfactory reduction in teen pregnancy.
- Increasing incidence of sexual assault and increase in HIV/AIDS infection.
- Rise in fertility from 116 to 132 between 2010 and 2015.
- 1 in 4 girls aged 15-19 is either pregnant or has already given birth.
- 1 in 10 adolescent girls use modern contraceptive
Teen Pregnancy is associated with: –
- School drop out
- Reproductive health related problem.
- Unsafe abortion practices.
- Low birth weight.
- Preterm delivery.
- Sever neonatal condition.
- Risk of death due to malnutrition due to poor reproductive services (due to stigma).
