Safe Haven Foundation has started implementing its big vision with initial steps by starting with its short-term plans by establishing social media pages to reach out to the society to educate them about reproductive health education and increasing awareness as well as providing direct sessions with the youth on the matter.
The founder member of the initiative has also volunteered teaching reproductive health education to adolescents in Kinondoni District alongside with social development leaders in the area.
Our Goals
Short Term Goals (1-2years): Reaching out to the society through social media, establishing a helpline, television and radio outlets, organized seminars and lectures to educate about reproductive health education to adolescents and bring awareness through partnership with various schools, district, and government agencies.
Short Term to Medium Term Goals (2-5years): Establishing are creational Centre to provide a safe environment for the adolescents to open communication through art, poetry, theatre and sports. Providing direct sessions with educators to give them training on reproductive health education. Reaching out to the policymakers and implementing reproductive health education to adolescent’s policy effectively to cater to all adolescents without bias in a faster and reliable way.
Long Term Goals: Establishing Safe Haven Foundation (an adolescent’s friendly health care center to providing a safe space for adolescents to be heard and helped with regards to their reproductive health.
How We Deliver
Safe Haven Foundation aspires to see adolescents acquire appropriate scientifically proven knowledge on reproductive health education giving them the opportunity to make appropriate choices. Our core mission is to enlighten the society on reproductive health education and aiding them understand the importance of its presence in the society. To allow adolescents to lead successful as healthy adults in the community. To ensure that Safe Haven believes in providing an environment where adolescents feel safe to communicate, interact with both educators and parents regarding their sexuality.
Scaling
Safe Haven Foundation is set to execute at high scale with minimum cost possible due to its desire to reach and aid many adolescents, parents and educators to provide with adequate scientifically proven knowledge on reproductive health.
Jamii Elimika
Safe Haven Foundation is also on Jamii Elimika Project. “Jamii Elimika” is an integrated approach to promote reproductive health education and prevent early pregnancy and sexual assault among adolescents in Kinondoni District in Tanzania.
